What is Acupressure ?

Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities. Using the power and sensitivity of the hand, Acupressure Therapy is effective in the relief of stress-related ailments, and is ideal for self-treatment and preventive health care for boosting the immune system.

Acupressure releases tension, increases circulation, reduces pain, and develops spirituality and vibrant health. It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to acupressure points with the aim of clearing blockages of Toxins in these meridians.

Pressure may be applied by hand, by thumb, by elbow, or with various devices like Jimmy, Foot-roller, Hand-roller, Finger Rings, etc. Some medical studies have suggested that acupressure may be effective at helping manage nausea and vomiting, for helping lower back pain, migraine, stress, stomach ache, among other things, although such studies have been found to be beneficial. Its Harmless, Drugless and has no side effects. Its an innocent therapy.

History of Acupressure

Acupressure and acupuncture therapy was known in India 5000 years ago. The people of India also practiced acupuncture at that time. The history of the evolution of mankind, disease and Acupressure therapy are all co-related to each other. The essence of this statement is that when man evolved there were no systematic health science (Allopathy, Homeopathy, Ayurveda etc.) to help him to cope with his illness. All systematic health sciences developed when man became civilized. But Humans certainly had something with him from the very beginning that used to protect and cure him of his illness. It has been the third most popular of treating pain and illnesses in the world.
